Namibia - Skeleton Coast

The road to Torra Bay

The road to Torra Bay

The tract of coast between the town of Swakopmund and Torra Bay, included in the newly established Dorob National Park, is a flat terrain dotted with low bushes that separates the two major blocks of sand dunes of the Namib desert, the southern of which in the huge Namib-Naukluft park and the northern in the Skeleton Coast Park. The latter name is probably related to the past frequent findings of whale carcasses, but is also consistent with the many shipwrecks still visible along the shores.
